Drought Contingency Plan Stage 1 is in effect until further notice.
Voluntary Water Use Restrictioins
Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize for discontinue water use for essential purposes.
The City of Newton has a water well that has failed which has reduced the cities production capacity by 40%.
The City of Newton is in the process of drilling a new well that will correct the issue, the well should be completed and online by end of June 2023.
At this time the City is issue a Stage 1 Drought Contingency Plan.
The City is projecting by June 1, 2023 or sooner a Stage 2 of the Drought Contingency plan may be issued.
if required all customers will be notified of the stage 2 restrictions.
